Vasile Rotaru is a researcher at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (Bucharest). He holds a Ph.D. in International Relations, with a thesis on the Eastern Partnership and its impact on EU-Russia relations.
He has conducted academic research at the National
University of Political Studies and Public Administration (Bucharest, Romania), Georgetown University (Washington D.C., U.S.A.), University of Tartu (Estonia) and University of Leuven (Belgium).
His research interests are Russian foreign policy, the former Soviet space, the Eastern Partnership. His most recent book is Between Integration and Intervention. Russia and the European ‘near abroad’ after 2009 (Military Publishing House, Bucharest, 2016)
