
Mihai Fifor
Mihai Fifor is the current Romanian Minister of Defence since September 2017, and prior to this office, he was the Minister of Economy. In 1994 he earned his B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Craiova and a year later he completed an M.A. in Romanian literature at the same university. In 2003 he earned his Ph.D. in Social Anthropology and in 2007 he graduated a M.A. in Public Affairs Management at SNSPA, in 2009 one in Internal Affairs Management from the “Al. I. Cuza” Police Academy, and another one in Security and Good Governance from the National Defence College. He worked as main scientific researcher at the Institute of Social-Human Research “C. S. Nicolaescu – Plopșor” from the Romanian Academy (1994-2001), director at the Dolj County Center for Preserving and Promoting the Traditional Culture (2001-2005), manager of the Museum of Oltenia from Craiova (2005-2009 and 2009-2012) and state secretary at the Ministry of Administration and Interior (2009). In 2012 he was elected senator from the Dolj county and in 2016 as senator from Arad county.
