Mariusz Błaszczak is the Minister of National Defense of Poland. During his longstanding career in Polish politics, Mr Błaszczak was active in the local administration in the Legionowo City Hall. Between 2002-2004, he was a deputy mayor of the Warsaw Wola district, and in December 2004 he became the mayor of the Śródmieście district, Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, member of the Council of Ministers. Starting November 2015 he was the Minister of the Interior and Administration and in January 2018 he was appointed by the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda to the position of the Minister of National Defence. Mr Błaszczak graduated from the Faculty of History at the University of Warsaw. He is also a graduate of the National School of Public Administration and post-graduate studies in Local Government and Local Development and in Management in Administration.
