Jovan Teokarevic is Associate Professor of Comparative Politics at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade, Serbia, where he had previously finished his BA, MA and PhD studies. Before joining the University of Belgrade, he was research fellow at the Institute for European Studies (Belgrade). His research has focused on post-communist transition, politics in the Balkans, EU and NATO enlargement and EU-Western Balkan relations.
His diplomatic experience includes a position as the Director of the UN Department of the Ministry of Foreign Aﬀairs of the Czech Republic as well as Deputy Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to both NATO and the United Nations. He is a graduate of Czech Technical University in Prague, Economy and Civil Engineering.
