Gustav Spät, B.Sc. in Economics of Free University Berlin, is currently a masters Student in Economics at KU Leuven, Belgium. In 2018/19 he worked at the Institute for European Politics in Berlin, organizing and participating in IEPs main civic mobilization project #EngagEU. The project aims at increasing youth participation throughout Europe. As part of the implementation of the different project activities in different EU-countries he was a main contributor and co-author of the Manifesto „Young Ideas for the Future of Europe“. His work includes the presentation of the project to the German president and newly elected MEPs. Gustav and his colleague Philipp Raab are the winners of the European E-debate competition „Future of Europe“ dealing among other key topics with civic mobilization and street protests.
