Darko Trifunović finished the Law Faculty of the University of Belgrade. He received his MA in 1999 at the University of Robert Kennedy in Zurich. In July 2007 he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Security of the University of Belgrade with the topic “New Forms of Terrorism in BiH” and in October 2008 he was promoted to the Doctor of Defense, Security and Protection. He is also a member of the Steering Committee of the RIEAS (Institute for American-European Studies) based in Athens, the Advisory Board of the Institute for Transnational Studies from Munich, a guest lecturer at FUDAN University in Shanghai and a permanent lecturer at the International Studies Center in Shanghai. After the terrorist attacks in the United States in 2001, he was hired as an adviser to two separate teams of lawyer victims (law offices Cozen O’Connor and Lloyd). He performed several important functions, among other things: he was a member of the War Crimes Commission of the Government of Republika Srpska, an associate of the Institute for Political Studies from Belgrade, the Secretary of the Institute for Security Studies, Faculty of Security, University of Belgrade; expert for the issue of terrorism in the Ministry of Police of Republika Srpsk and so forth. He is a member of the advisory team of the Institute for International Studies.
